Specialist II, Shop Technician
POSITION PROFILEThe Shop Tech Specialist II prepares a broad range of new equipment for delivery and rebuilds used equipment.
Other primary responsibilities include providing technical support, quality assurance, training, and general direction to other technicians.
Additional responsibilities may include lead role.
Able to accomplish assigned projects without supervision.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESMeets appropriate productivity/quality standards relative to assigned job responsibility as outlined by manager.
As a specialist, provides technical support to other technicians.
Develops and delivers on-going OJT to other technicians.
Quality assurance.
Classroom Training:
Complete certified training, from the previous grade levelsSuccessfully complete Canon Digital
Certification.
Demonstrates Technical Expertise and Provides Specialist SupportPrepares a broad range of new equipment for delivery, repairs customer equipment in-house, and rebuilds used equipment.
Develops rebuild processes for used equipment.
Provides assistance to other technicians on broad range of technical problemsMaintains close linkage to field to monitor current technical problems and fixes.
Maintains and distributes technical information for shop technicians.
Champions continuous quality improvement of shop output.
Provides Technical TrainingConducts OJT training for new and experienced technicians as required.
Conducts technical seminars as required.
Customer ServiceIs a role model.
Exhibits professional appearance and behavior at all times.
Is a positive influence/champion within the team/organization.
Effectively handles most difficult customer situations.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Financial Responsibility:
Quality of shop output can have direct influence on customer purchase decision.
QUALIFICATIONS (Education, Experience and Certifications)Typically Required:
Requires high level technical skills typically gained through completion of two years of technicalschool and 5
years related experience.
Prior field experience desired.
Digital Basic Certification required.
Digital
Certification desired.
