Located in Rialto, California, specializes in forging Titanium, Aluminum, Stainless Steel, and exotic alloys serving multiple markets including aerospace, defense, industrial, electronic, semiconductor, and nuclear industries.
Position
Summary:
Level two manipulator operators are internally certified to operate forge manipulators to work with the press operators and blacksmiths to move and form material at the press.
They are responsible for locating and rotating product and material during the forging operation at the instruction of blacksmiths and press operators.

Work safely under functional safety guidelines such as PPE and equipment interaction.
Safely and efficiently operates the required floor manipulator(s) in accordance with the instructions of the blacksmith to enable the successful manufacture of forgings for the assigned forge unit.
Knows the roles and relationships of each member of the press crew, the press operator and blacksmith, where they are and their responsibilities during the operation of the press.
Ability to read and understand the shop traveler, daily production reports and other work instructions.
Sweeps dies; takes accurate size measurements and records them; operates all furnace controls (door and car); safely operates a forklift and a variety of floor manipulators.
Assist crew during die set ups.
Understands the process and importance of SPC (Statistical Process Control).
Capable of assisting with correcting diamond twist and straightness of bars and billets.
Knowledgeable of materials and forging practices.
Sets up and uses impression stamps.
Reports any damage to the unit or any other required maintenance necessary to the Maintenance Department and/or forge supervisor.
Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge of materials, temperature, and forging practices Understands open die cooling process (when to use hot pad, pallet, quench or furnace slow cool, etc.
) Takes accurate size measurements and records them Positively models culture Interdepartmental communication Ability to train others Assist in continuous improvement & developing best practices Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Experience & Education High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required; or minimum two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Forklift experience/certification.
Experience in forge industry is highly preferred but not required.

Will be working near operating furnaces and constantly exposed to dirt, noise and the extreme heat of hot furnaces.
